I'm not sure if people not in Ottawa fully grasp the extent of the so-called freedom convoy's organization and infrastructure, which has deeply installed itself in downtown Ottawa.

- They brought their own cranes with them.
- They brought their own porta-potties, which are blocking streets and the freeway.
- They have bonfires going in the middle of the street, and bonfires in cans being driven around on the back of truck trailers.
- They have a full tent city situation. They seem to work in shifts honking in various vehicles and then will trade off with others for breaks, leaving to various tent and trailer shelters throughout town for food, warmth etc.
- They have brought old broken and run-down trucks and have left them in the middle of the roads.
- They have a pick-up truck and mini-backhoe on a tractor trailer parked right in front of Parliament.
- They have taken the wheels off cars in some intersections, so they are immovable.
- There is seemingly a random person in the car who works in shifts honking randomly and/or yelling out of a megaphone.
- The entire downtown core of Ottawa is completely blocked off with vehicles. This is not 50 people, or 200 people. There are hundreds and hundreds of vehicles and people still here. They are deeply installed, and continue to hold the city hostage.
- Protesters have set-up what appear to be two pizza ovens beside tables full of food. A propane heater has been also installed inside an OC Transpo shelter that’s being used to keep folks warm, & theres a truck full of supplies, including many cases of water & chips.
The backers of the operation had largely contributed through a GoFundMe appeal. The wisdom of using these woke operations was called into question when the company announced it would, “refund or redirect to charities the vast majority of millions raised”. GoFundMe said it cut off funding for the organizers, because it had determined the effort violated the site’s terms of service due to unlawful activity. It had already suspended the fundraising effort, which had raised about 10 million Canadian (US$7.8 million).
“We now have evidence from law enforcement that the previously peaceful demonstration has become an occupation, with police reports of violence and other unlawful activity,” GoFundMe said in a statement.
“No further funds will be directly distributed.”
There is now also talk that the trucker’s insurance companies will revoke their insurance.
These moves have been designed to succeed where the local police have failed to prevent this massive anti-mandate demonstration. Meanwhile, with all these rigs off the road, the supply chain falls even into chaos.
They’re not all bad!
A soup kitchen has been set up by truckers/supporters at Confederation Park in Ottawa. Feeding anyone in need in the area. #TruckersConvoy2022 https://t.co/8hpC710hZK pic.twitter.com/dOX22LI5be
